Chapter 11 Blog Post - Section 03

For this blog post, read the Interactive Session: Technology on pages 429-430, Augmented Reality: Reality Gets Better. In a detailed post, answer questions 1-4 on page 430.

1. In virtual reality, everything is computer generated. Augmented reality, however, add real-world elements alongside computer generated graphics. It there is any part of the real world in the fake reality, it is augmented.

2. Augmented reality is more appealing to users than virtual reality because with augmented reality, you can see how it is used with real life events. While one reality, such as virtual, is cool, it is even cooler to mix together more than one reality.

3. Real estate uses augmented reality to help make it easier for customers to learn about different houses on the market. By pointer their smart phone or similar device to a certain house, they can immediately learn the retail value of that house along with other information. This eliminates the need for a salesperson that must walk around with you and chatter your ear off.

4. When you watch football, there is always a yellow line that marks where the ball must pass in order for a team to have a first down. This is an example of augmented reality because the computer generated yellow line is mixed in with the real life football game.
